Tom DeLay's lessons for Democrats

Thursday was Tom DeLay's last day in the House, and he had, of course, some words for his (soon-to-be-erstwhile) colleagues. But along with the predictable vitriol were some thoughts that Democrats would do well to ponder:

The Democrats pine for those good old days, those days when the Republicans were in a minority mindset and didn't fight for anything. They didn't stand up for what they believed in and just took it and took it and took it.

It's 1999. You're Terri Schiavo, but you live in Texas

As Texas governor in 1999, Bush signed SB 1260, which permits a doctor to withdraw all life support (including food and water) from an incommunicado patient - even if her advance directive requests that she receive all possible care.
